Nina & Will • Cates Park

About two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to do a shoot with my sister and her husband. I was also with my friend, Hannah Friesen, and she took many photos as well, especially after my memory card became full and we still had much time left!

This was the fourth shoot that the two had done, so they were getting pretty intermediate and comfortable with some of the poses. I'd set them up a little bit and then they would just go ahead and make it their own.

This shoot was really fun to do especially because it was my sister and bro-in-law AND it was a strange type of bonding time for us, in my point of view anyways. So here ya go, enjoy this snapshot of a couple at Cates Park!

I call this pose "The Prom Slow Dance"!

I love that my sister isn't afraid to be silly in front of the camera. Makes for fun photos like this one!

Who's that couple in the distance ruining my perfectly good shot of the pier? ;)

Thanks for giving me a bit of your time to hone my skills and I hope you weren't too nervous about how the pictures would turn out!

Love your little baby sister,
Nancy :)

Jessica • Black Dress

Crazy story! I have this friend whom I have not actually ever hung out in person with for about 4 years and we decided to spend some time together doing this photo shoot. I got her to wear a formal dress and we were all set up to take some dramatic photos.

Jessica can be a pretty theatrical person at times and that side of her personality definitely added another dimension to this shoot. She was completely herself, yet completely in character as well, as some sort of actress/movie star-esque personage.

We had actually had TWO themes done that day and the first is this glamorous shoot. The second theme, however, was quite the opposite, one which I will present to you in a different blog.

Look at those heels!!

These shots make me wonder if there is another world behind those mirrors...

Ah yes! Can't forget Skittles the Dog!

I love playing with lines and angles when it comes to photography...

Some classic head shots...

And we end with a dramatic look into the sky...

The Giesbrecht Boys!

Two months ago, I was spending time with my old youth leader, Nicki Giesbrecht, at her house with her two boys, Max the toddler and Spencer the baby. I saw some of the photos that they had taken at Wal-mart and I was inspired to take some photos of the boys myself. I proposed that I come again sometime, but with my handy-dandy camera and Nicki readily consented! So we set up a date and I caught some of these lovely candid moments with Max and Spencer.

Above and below are pictures of Spencer fooling around with his bubble maker. He couldn't figure
out how to get the thing to work.

The above picture is Max right before he sneezed!

And right above here is the sequence of pictures I caught while Max was sneezing. It was so cute!
